Thirty years of turning up prepared and getting the shot.
For 30 years I've filmed for broadcasters, production companies and brands across Scotland, the rest of the UK, Europe, the USA and Asia. Whatever the job, I like to be involved before the shoot so we can plan properly, spot problems early and make the most of the day, and then deliver footage that looks good and cuts together easily.
I bring a complete, well-maintained kit: a RED Komodo 6K and a Sony FS7, interview lighting, client and director monitors, black drapes and a laptop for copying rushes, with my own transport to get it all there. Interviews are a big part of my work, from company leaders to contributors on broadcast series such as the RTS Scotland award-winning Criminal Evidence.
I'm comfortable leading a crew, working as part of one or shooting on my own, and I bring patience, respect and a friendly, positive outlook to every set. I'm also a bit of a geek, with a degree in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Edinburgh, so I'm always happy to advise on frame rates, LUTs, codecs and workflow.
